MOSMA (Movie Score Malaga) brings together 6000 people to celebrate film music

The first edition of MOSMA (Movie Score Malaga), organised by the Festival de Málaga, came to a close this Sunday with a very positive outcome: between 29th June and 3rd July it brought together a total of 6000 people to celebrate film music. To the favourable public response must be added the excellent evaluation of the quality of the content –levels of satisfaction were high among the mostly specialised public who attended the event from different points of Spain.

At the same time, the MOSMA activities were supported by an important media presence, both in the conventional media and on social media, including at international level. Numerous specialized reporters covered the event and several publicists from the sector attended to evaluate the quality of this first edition.

Seven concerts, meetings and parallel activities were programmed in this first edition of MOSMA, enabling fans to meet composers of international renown, such as Craig Armstrong, Jan A. P. Kazcmarek, Roque Baños, Sean Callery, Pino Donaggio and Kenji Kawai, among others. All were present at different meetings and café-style events, enabling the audience to get closer to them, generating an atmosphere of familiarity which we hope will prove to be one of the identifying marks of this festival.

The first edition presented the MOSMA Awards to the following composers: MOSMA Honored, presented posthumously to Michael Kamen; MOSMA ScreenTV to Sean Callery; MOSMA Homeland to Roque Baños; MOSMA Premiere to Federico Jusid; MOSMA Maestro to Jan A. P. Kaczmarek; MOSMA Distant Worlds to Kenji Kawai; MOSMA Vintage to Pino Donaggio and MOSMA Main Theme to Craig Armstrong. All prizes were presented during the closing concert which was held on Saturday at the Teatro Cervantes, and in which the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra played a selection of works composed by these musicians.
