Estrenos mundiales de música de cine llenan la programación de la segunda edición del MOSMA

Del 5 al 9 de julio de 2017, Málaga se convertirá de nuevo en el epicentro internacional de la música de cine con la segunda edición del MOSMA (Movie Score Málaga), evento organizado por el Festival de Málaga. Tras el éxito de la primera edición, que congregó a más de 6.000 personas, el MOSMA quiere convertirse de nuevo en punto de encuentro a nivel internacional para compositores ya consagrados y jóvenes talentos con aficionados a la música del audiovisual en su más amplio contenido, ya que a las bandas sonoras de cine se suman las de televisión, series o vídeojuegos.

 

En 2017, el MOSMA contará de nuevo con invitados nacionales e internacionales de primer orden, entre los que tendremos a Tyler Bates, José Nieto, Mac Quayle, Neal Acree, Víctor Reyes, Zacarias M. de la Riva, Rupert Gregson-Williams, David Shire y Trevor Jones, entre otros compositores.

 

Este evento –que tendrá de nuevo como sedes principales el Teatro Cervantes y Teatro Echegaray, a las que se sumará el Recinto Eduardo Ocón– tiene como objetivo principal promover las bandas sonoras entre nuevos públicos y satisfacer el interés de los amantes de este género. En su segunda edición, el MOSMA se consolida como proyecto dedicado a la música en todos sus aspectos, ya que además de programar conciertos será de nuevo un espacio de encuentro para profesionales y aficionados.

 

Como antesala y concierto pre-inaugural, el MOSMA regalará a los aficionados a la música de cine un concierto gratuito el martes 4 de julio a las 20:30 horas en la Catedral de Málaga, en el que la Orquesta Sinfónica Provincial, el Orfeón Universitario y el Orfeón Preuniversitario de Málaga interpretarán bajo dirección de Arturo Díez Boscovich, y con Cristina Gallego como solista, un programa en el que bajo el título ‘Lo sagrado y lo divino’, se podrá disfrutar de conocidas bandas sonoras de cine religioso y espiritual, como ‘Rey de reyes’, ‘Los diez mandamientos’ o ‘La misión’, entre otros. El acceso a este concierto será por invitación, previa retirada en el Cine Albéniz a partir del 23 de junio en horario de taquilla.

  

El concierto de apertura del MOSMA, el miércoles 5 de julio en el Teatro Cervantes, estará dedicado a ‘La música de las superproducciones cinematográficas’ y estará interpretado por la Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, dirigida por Arturo Díez Boscovich, que a su vez nos presentará su obra ‘Star Wars – Heredero del Imperio’, pieza inédita que será interpretada en primicia. Además del universo Star Wars, se presentarán en exclusiva mundial la música de las películas ‘Piratas del Caribe: La venganza de Salazar’, ‘Wonder Woman’, ‘300’, ‘Guardianes de la galaxia’, ‘Watchmen’, ‘El camino’ y ‘Hasta el último hombre’. Un recorrido, en definitiva, por grandes éxitos de la música de superproducciones de autores como Tyler Bates, John Williams, Geoff Zanelli y Rupert Gregson-Williams.

 

El sábado 8 de julio tendrá lugar en el Teatro Cervantes el concierto 'Legends: Grandes maestros de la música de cine', interpretado por la Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga y dirigida por Arturo Díez Boscovich y el mítico compositor Trevor Jones, contando, además, como invitados con David Shire, José Nieto y Víctor Reyes. El programa del concierto cuenta con el estreno mundial de la música de ‘Notting Hill’, ‘Oz, un mundo fantástico’ y ‘Dark City’, así como la interpretación de películas míticas como ‘El último mohicano’, ‘Fiebre del sábado noche’ o ‘Cristal oscuro’. 

 

La programación se completará con el concierto del jueves 6 de junio en el Teatro Echegaray, en el que bajo el título ‘Mosma Screen TV’ se interpretará las bandas sonoras de series de televisión de tanta popularidad como ‘Stranger Things’ o ‘Mr. Robot’. Ese mismo día, a las 22 horas en el Recinto Eduado Ocón, disfrutaremos del Mosma Main Theme. Distant worlds', donde el compositor Tyler Bates nos ofrecerá la música que ha compuesto para películas y series como ‘El camino’, ‘300’, ‘Watchmen,’ ‘John Wick’, ‘Californication’ y ‘Guardianes de la galaxia’.

 

El viernes 7 de julio le tocará el turno al prestigioso compositor David Shire, que interpretará a piano bandas sonoras de su disco ‘At the movies’, con Silvia Parejo como solista.

 

Y la clausura del MOSMA corresponderá a la Orquesta Sinfónica Provincial que, con la participación como artista invitado de Neal Acree, interpretará ‘Insert coin: lo mejor de la música de los videojuegos’.

 

Encuentros con los compositores invitados, firma de discos y la entrega de los premios Jerry Goldsmith el viernes 7 de julio en una gala a celebrar en el Echegaray, completan la programación de un evento que ya en su segunda edición se consolida como una de las principales citas internacionales con la música de cine.

From the 5th to the 9th of July, the second edition of MOSMA (Movie Score Málaga), event organised by the Malaga Film Festival, will once again convert Malaga in the international centre of film music.Following the success of the first edition, which attracted  more than 6,000 persons, MOSMA aims once again to be the international meeting point of renowned composers and young talents with enthusiasts of audiovisual music in all of its varieties, which in addition to film scores includes music for television, series and videogames.

 

The 2017 edition of MOSMA will also boast first class national and international guests, including Tyler Bates, José Nieto, Mac Quayle, NealAcree, Víctor Reyes, Zacarias M. de la Riva, Rupert Gregson-Williams, David Shire and Trevor Jones, amongst other composers.

 

The main objective of the event, which will have the Teatro Cervantes and Teatro Echegaray as its main venues, as well as the Eduardo Ocon bandstand, is to promote film scores amongst new audiences and to satisfy the interest of the fans of this genre. In its second edition, MOSMA presents itself as a consolidated project devoted to music in all of its aspects, and in addition to programming concerts, will also provide professionals and fans with the opportunity for encounters.

 

As a preview of the event and pre-inaugural concert, on Tuesday July 4th MOSMA will offer film music enthusiasts a free concert performed by the Provincial Symphony Orchestra, the University Choral Society and the Pre-university Choral Society of Malaga, conducted by Arturo Diez Boscovich and with Cristina Gallego as soloists. The programme of the concert, which will take place at the Cathedral of Malaga, is entitled ‘The Sacred and The Divine’ and consists of the music scores of religious and spiritual films, such as  ‘King of Kings’, ‘The Ten Commandments’ and ‘The Mission’, amongst others. Access to this concert is by invitation, which can be picked up at the box office of the Cine Albéniz starting on June 23rd, during opening hours.

 

The MOSMA opening concert, on Wednesday July 5th at the Teatro Cervantes, will be dedicated to ‘The Music of Super-Productions’ and performed by the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Arturo Díez Boscovich, who will also be conducting the world premiere of his composition ‘Star Wars – Heir of the Empire’. In addition to the universe of Star Wars, the music of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge’, ‘Wonder Woman’, ‘300’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘Watchmen’, ‘The Way’ and ‘Hacksaw Ridge’ will also be performed as world premieres: in short, a journey through the major hits of the music of super-productions, by composers that include Tyler Bates, John Williams, Geoff Zanelli and Rupert Gregson-Williams.

 

On Saturday July 8th, at the Teatro Cervantes, theconcert 'Legends: Great Maestros of Film Music' will be performed by the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Arturo Díez Boscovich and the legendary composer Trevor Jones, with David Shire, José Nieto and Víctor Reyes as guests. The programme of the concert includes the world premiere of the music of ‘Notting Hill’, ‘Oz, the Great and Powerful’ and ‘Dark City’, along with the scores of legendary films such as ‘The Last Mohican’, ‘Saturday Night Fever’ and ‘The Dark Crystal’.

 

The last concert of the series, entitled  ‘Mosma Screen TV’, will be on Thursday July 6th at the Teatro Echegaray and will consist of the music score of hugely successful television series, including ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Mr. Robot’. That same day, the concert entitled ‘Mosma Main Theme –Distant Worlds' will beat 10:00 pm at the Eduardo Ocon bandstand, with the composer Tyler Bates performing the music he composed for films and series such as ‘The Way’, ‘300’, ‘Watchmen, ’‘John Wick’, ‘Californication’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’.

 

On Friday July 7th it will be the turn of the renown composer David Shire, who will perform at the piano the film music from his record ‘At the Movies’, with Silvia Parejo as the soloist.

 

MOSMA’s closing concert will be performed by the Provincial Symphony Orchestra, with a programme entitled ‘Insert Coin: the Best of Videogame Music’ and the participation of Neal Acree as guest artist.

 

Encounters with the guest composers, signing of records and the gala ceremony of the Jerry Goldsmith Awards on Friday July 7th at the Teatro Echegaray complete the programme of the second edition of an event which is considered one of the main international film music festivals.
